Στο περιθώριο του Game Developers Conference, διεξήχθησαν τα Game Developers Choice Awards και τα Independent Game Festival Awards.

Όπως ήταν λογικό,  Game of the Year ανακηρύχθηκε το  The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, αφήνοντας πίσω του τα Fallout 4, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Bloodborne και Rocket League.
